Ed Wilson is an entrepreneurial-minded, modern media executive who moves seamlessly between traditional and emerging media and gracefully from the executive boardroom to the free-thinking space of content and talent development.Ed has held top-level executive roles at major media companies, including serving as President of Tribune Broadcasting, FOX Television Network, NBC Enterprises, and CBS Enterprises. Ed recently was the Executive Chairman of Timeline Labs, a social intelligence network acquired by SeaChange International, a TV software company.Ed was a partner at New Form Digital, a studio that develops and produces scripted content for digital platforms. He is an advisor to Apollo Investment Corporation and serves as Executive Chairman of CoxReps.

Jeff Brownlow

 

Prior to founding Fifth Partners, Jeff spent 10 years working in a variety of roles, including entrepreneur, operator, and investor. He co-founded a long-only public equity fund and attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business after working as a private equity investor at Bain Capital, Boston.Before Bain Capital, Jeff worked in the turnaround practice at Bain & Company in Dallas, advising several clients in diverse industries; he also worked for the US Treasury in Washington in the Capital Markets Group.

Joe Drysdale

 

Joe began his career in real estate and has over 15 years of experience in building and investing across the real estate and energy sectors, as well as within various early stage companies.  He currently serves on numerous boards of Fifth companies.  He and his wife have three children and are active members of various civic organizations in their community in Dallas, Texas.

Matt Mathison

 

Matt currently serves as the Managing Partner at Fifth Partners. Prior to joining Fifth, Matt served as CFO and Co-Founder of Imagination Unwired, a successful technology platform company.  Before that, he served as VP of Capital Markets for NQ Mobile and as President of Wedge Partners Corporation where he led the sales efforts of the company’s technology-focused research and trading business. He also led the formation of WP Asset Management, a registered investment advisor in the U.S., and acted as general partner of long/short equity hedge fund Proconex Partners LLC.Matt began his career as an institutional sales representative at Goldman Sachs. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Royce Wilson

 

Royce Wilson is a partner of Fifth Growth Fund. Prior to joining, Royce most recently served as Executive Vice President of Business Development for Victory Acquisition Corp., which was a newly organized blank check company focused on the sports, media, and entertainment industries. From 2019 to 2021, Royce was Vice President of Corporate Partnerships & Media Sales at Immortals Gaming Club (“IGC”), a vertically integrated, global esports and gaming company.From 2015 to 2019, Royce was an associate in the technology, media and telecom Investment Banking Group at Stephens Inc. in Dallas, where he focused on M&A advisory and capital markets transactions across a variety of media verticals. Before joining Stephens Inc., Royce worked for IAC (Nasdaq: IAC) in Business Development for one of IAC’s digital media subsidiaries in New York.Royce began his career at Cox Media in New York. Royce received a B.S. in Economics from Southern Methodist University, and an M.B.A from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

Justin Passek

 

Justin Passek is a partner of Fifth Growth Fund. He brings experience building and evaluating highly technical products, services and organizations from a quantitative and qualitative lens.Justin built, maintained and was solely responsible for the big data/machine learning sourcing and diligence engine at The Chernin Group, a private equity firm with over $1B AUM, focusing on growth and control consumer investments in media, web3, technology, commerce and sports. Prior to joining TCG, Justin was the second data science hire at MightyHive, now rebranded as Media.Monks & S4 Capital, a leading global media & engineering consulting organization. Through his personal and professional network, Justin is well positioned to capitalize on trends in web3 and consumer media technology.Justin received a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, and currently resides in the key entrepreneurial ecosystem of San Francisco.

Nathan Duncan

 

Nathan serves as a senior associate at Fifth Partners, where he has been instrumental in building core tools, implementing new technologies, and performing analysis across various domains.

He graduated from BYU in 2018 with a degree in Actuarial Science and joined Fifth Partners shortly thereafter as an analyst on the Tactical Operations team. In pursuing his passion for learning, Nathan has passed six of the actuarial exams (P, FM, IFM, SRM, LTAM, STAM) while working towards the ASA designation of the Society of Actuaries.
